78 Jesus said, "Why have you come out to the countryside? To see a reed
shaken by the wind? And to see a person dressed in soft clothes, [like your]
rulers and your powerful ones? They are dressed in soft clothes, and they
cannot understand truth."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "왜 너희가 광야에 나왔느냐? 바람에 흔들리는 갈대를 보려느냐, 너희의 다스리는 자와 권세자처럼 부드러운 옷 입는 자를 보려느냐? 그들은 부드러운 옷을 입고 있으나 그들은 진리를 깨닫지 못하느니라."
79 A woman in the crowd said to him, "Lucky are the womb that bore you and
the breasts that fed you."
무리 중에 한 여자가 그에게 말하되, "당신을 배었던 태와 당신을 먹였던 젖이 복되도다."
He said to [her], "Lucky are those who have heard the word of the Father and
have truly kept it. For there will be days when you will say, 'Lucky are the
womb that has not conceived and the breasts that have not given milk.'"
그가 대답하시길, "아버지의 말씀을 듣고 이를 진정으로 지키는 자가 복되도다. (오히려) 너희가 아이를 갖지 않던 태와 모유를 내지 않던 젖이 복되도다 할 날들이 있게되리라."
80 Jesus said, "Whoever has come to know the world has discovered the body,
and whoever has discovered the body, of that one the world is not worthy."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "세상을 알게된 누구든지 육체를 발견하였고 육체를 발견한 누구에게든 세상은 가치가 없느니라."
81 Jesus said, "Let one who has become wealthy reign, and let one who has
power renounce ."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "부유케 된 자로 하여금 다스리게 하고 권세 있는 자로 하여금 물러나게 하라."
82 Jesus said, "Whoever is near me is near the fire, and whoever is far from
me is far from the kingdom."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "나에게 가까이 있는 누구든지 불에 가까이 있는 것이요, 나에게 떨여져 있는 누구든지 그 나라와 떨어져 있느니라."
83 Jesus said, "Images are visible to people, but the light within them is
hidden in the image of the Father's light. He will be disclosed, but his
image is hidden by his light."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "형상들은 사람에게 보이나 그들 안에 있는 빛은 아버지의 빛의 형상 안에 감추어져있느니라. 그는 밝혀질 것이나 그의 형상은 그의 빛에 의해 감추어져있느니라."
84 Jesus said, "When you see your likeness, you are happy. But when you see
your images that came into being before you and that neither die nor become
visible, how much you will have to bear!"
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "너희가 너희의 화상(畵像)을 볼 때에 기뻐하나, 너희에 앞서 존재한 너희 형상을 볼 때엔 너희가 얼마나 감당하리요."
85 Jesus said, "Adam came from great power and great wealth, but he was not
worthy of you. For had he been worthy, [he would] not [have tasted] death."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "아담이 큰 권세와 큰 부유함에서 왔으나 너희만큼 가치 있지 않도다. 만약 그가 가치 있더라면 죽음을 맛보지 않았으리라."
86 Jesus said, "[Foxes have] their dens and birds have their nests, but
human beings have no place to lay down and rest."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "여우도 제 굴이 있고 새들도 제 둥지가 있으나 사람은 누워 쉴 곳이 없도다."
87 Jesus said, "How miserable is the body (person) that depends on a body, and how
miserable is the soul that depends on these two."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "한 육체에 의지하는 사람은 얼마나 가련한가, 또 이 둘에 의지하는 영혼은 얼마나 가련한가."
88 Jesus said, "The messengers and the prophets will come to you and give
you what belongs to you. You, in turn, give them what you have, and say to
yourselves, 'When will they come and take what belongs to them?'"
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "사자들과 선지자들이 너희에게 와서 너희에게 속한 것을 주리라. 그 다음에는 너희가 가진 것을 그들에게 주며 스스로 묻되, '언제 그들이 와서 그들에게 속한 것을 취할꼬?' 하리라."
89 Jesus said, "Why do you wash the outside of the cup? Don't you understand
that the one who made the inside is also the one who made the outside?"
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "너희는 왜 잔의 바깥을 닦느냐? 안을 만든 이가 바깥도 만든 이인 것을 깨닫지 못하느냐?
90 Jesus said, "Come to me, for my yoke is comfortable and my lordship is
gentle, and you will find rest for yourselves."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "나에게 오라. 이는 나의 멍에는 편하고 나의 다스림은 온화함이라. 너희는 너희를 위하여 안식을 얻게되리라."
