47 Jesus said, "A person cannot mount two horses or bend two bows.
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "사람이 두 말을 탈 수 없고 두 활을 구부릴 수 없느니라."
And a slave cannot serve two masters, otherwise that slave will honor the
one and offend the other.
"그리고 한 종이 두 주인을 섬길 수 없으니 그렇지 않으면 한 이를 공경하고 다른 이를 업신여기느니라."
"Nobody drinks aged wine and immediately wants to drink young wine. Young
wine is not poured into old wineskins, or they might break, and aged wine is
not poured into a new wineskin, or it might spoil.
"아무도 오래된 포도주를 마시고 즉시 새 포도주를 마시기를 원치 않느니라. 새 포도주는 오래된 부대에 넣지 않으니 부대가 찢어질 수 있기 때문이요, 오래된 포도주를 새 부대에 넣지 않으니 부대가 썩을 수 있음이라."
An old patch is not sewn onto a new garment, since it would create a tear."
"낡은 헝겁을 새 옷에 기우지 않으니 그것이 찢어지게 만들기 때문이니라."
48 Jesus said, "If two make peace with each other in a single house, they
will say to the mountain, 'Move from here!' and it will move."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "만약 두 사람이 한 집안에서 서로 화평하게 한다면 그들이 산더러 '여기서 옮겨져라'고 할 것이요 또 산이 옮겨지리라."
49 Jesus said, "Congratulations to those who are alone and chosen, for you
will find the kingdom. For you have come from it, and you will return there
again."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "혼자이며 택함 받은 자는 복이 있나니 그들이 그 나라를 찾을 것임이니 이는 그들이 거기로부터 와서 다시 거기로 돌아갈 것임이라."
50 Jesus said, "If they say to you, 'Where have you come from?' say to them,
'We have come from the light, from the place where the light came into being
by itself, established [itself], and appeared in their image.'
"만약 그들이 너희에게, '너희는 어디로부터 왔느냐'고 물으면 '우리는 빛에서 왔으며, 또 빛이 스스로 있게되고 조성되며 형상으로 나타난 그곳에서 왔노라'고 그들에게 대답하라."
If they say to you, 'Is it you?' say, 'We are its children, and we are the
chosen of the living Father.'
"만약 그들이, '그가 너희냐'고 물으면, '우리는 그의 자녀요, 또 우리는 살아계신 아버지의 택함받은 자라'고 대답하라."
If they ask you, 'What is the evidence of your Father in you?' say to them,
'It is motion and rest.'"
"만약 그들이, '너희 속에 너희 아버지의 증거가 무엇이냐'고 물으면, '그것은 운행하심과 안식하심이라'고 대답하라."
51 His disciples said to him, "When will the rest for the dead take place,
and when will the new world come?"
그의 제자들이 그에게 물은지라. "언제 죽은 자들을 위한 휴식이 있게될 것이며 언제 새 세상이 오게될 것이니이까?"
He said to them, "What you are looking forward to has come, but you don't
know it."
그가 그들에게 대답하시더라. "너희가 고대하고 있는 것은 도래했으나 너희가 그것을 모르느니라."
52 His disciples said to him, "Twenty-four prophets have spoken in Israel,
and they all spoke of you."
그의 제자들이 그에게 묻되, "스물 네 선지자가 이스라엘에게 말하였고 그들 모두 당신에 대해 이야기하였나이다."
He said to them, "You have disregarded the living one who is in your
presence, and have spoken of the dead."
그가 그들에게 대답하시니라. "너희는 너희와 같이 있는 살아있는 자는 경홀히 여기면서 죽은 자에 대해 이야기하도다."
53 His disciples said to him, "is circumcision useful or not?"
그의 제자들이 그에게 묻더라. "할례는 유익하나이까, 그렇지 않나이까?"
He said to them, "If it were useful, their father would produce children
already circumcised from their mother. Rather, the true circumcision in
spirit has become profitable in every respect."
그가 그들에게 대답하시니라. "만약 그것이 유익하다면 그들의 어미에게서부터 이미 할례되게 그들의 아비가 만들었으리라. 오히려 영혼의 진정한 할례는 모든 점에서 유익하니라."
54 Jesus said, "Congratulations to the poor, for to you belongs Heaven's
kingdom."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "가난한 자들은 복이 있나니, 천국이 저희에게 속하였음이라."
55 Jesus said, "Whoever does not hate father and mother cannot be my
disciple, and whoever does not hate brothers and sisters, and carry the
cross as I do, will not be worthy of me."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "누구든지 아비와 어미를 미워하지 않고는 나의 제자가 될 수 없고 누구든지 형제와 자매를 미워하지 않고 나처럼 십자가를 지지 않으면 내게 합당치 않으리라."
56 Jesus said, "Whoever has come to know the world has discovered a carcass,
and whoever has discovered a carcass, of that person the world is not
worthy."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "누구든지 세상을 알게되면 주검을 깨달은 것이요, 누구든지 주검을 깨달으면 그에게 세상은 합당치 않느니라."
57 Jesus said, The Father's kingdom is like a person who has [good] seed.
His enemy came during the night and sowed weeds among the good seed. The
person did not let the workers pull up the weeds, but said to them, "No,
otherwise you might go to pull up the weeds and pull up the wheat along with
them." For on the day of the harvest the weeds will be conspicuous, and will
be pulled up and burned.
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "아버지의 나라는 좋은 씨를 갖고 있는 한 사람과 같도다. 한밤에 그의 원수가 와서 좋은 씨들 사이에 가라지를 뿌렸느니라. 그 사람은 일꾼에게 가라지를 뽑으라고 시키지 않고 그들에게 말하되, '그리 말아라. 너희가 가라지를 뽑다가 밀까지 함께 뽑을까 하노라'하니 이는 추수날에 잡초는 뚜렷하게 보여 뽑혀 불에 태워짐이니라."
58 Jesus said, "Congratulations to the person who has toiled and has found
life."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "수고하여 생명을 찾은 자는 복이 있도다."
59 Jesus said, "Look to the living one as long as you live, otherwise you
might die and then try to see the living one, and you will be unable to
see."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "너희가 살아있는 동안에 살아계신 이를 바라라. 그렇지 않으면 너희가 죽을 것이요 그때 살아계신 이를 보려하여도 보지 못하리라."
60 He saw a Samaritan carrying a lamb and going to Judea. He said to his
disciples, "that person ... around the lamb." They said to him, "So that he
may kill it and eat it." He said to them, "He will not eat it while it is
alive, but only after he has killed it and it has become a carcass."
그 가 한 사마리아인이 양을 가지고 유대땅으로 가고 있는 것을 보시더라. 그가 제자들에게 "양을 멘 저 사람을 보라."하시니 제자들이 대답하되, "그가 양을 죽여 먹기 위함이니이다."하더라. 이에 그가 그들에게 말씀하시더라. "그는 양이 살아있을 동안에 그것을 먹지 않을 것이요, 그가 양을 죽인 이후에만 그것이 주검이 되느니라."
They said, "Otherwise he can't do it."
제자들이 말하되, "그렇지 아니하면 저가 할 수 없나이다."
He said to them, "So also with you, seek for yourselves a place for rest, or
you might become a carcass and be eaten."
그가 제자들에게 말씀하시더라. "너희도 마찬가지니라. 피난처를 찾을지어다. 그렇지 않으면 너희가 주검이 되고 먹히리라."
61 Jesus said, "Two will recline on a couch; one will die, one will live."
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "둘이 한 침상에 기대어 자되 하나는 죽고 하나는 살리라."
Salome said, "Who are you mister? You have climbed onto my couch and eaten
from my table as if you are from someone."
살로메가 묻되, "주여, 당신은 누구시니이까? 당신은 나의 침상에 올라오셨고 마치 큰 자로부터 온 것처럼 나의 식탁에서 잡수셨나이다."
Jesus said to her, "I am the one who comes from what is whole. I was granted
from the things of my Father."
예수께서 그녀에게 말씀하시되, "나는 전부인 자로부터 온 자이니라. 나는 내 아버지의 것들을 모두 허락받았느니라."
"I am your disciple."
"저는 당신의 제자이니이다."
"For this reason I say, if one is whole, one will be filled with light, but
if one is divided, one will be filled with darkness."
"이런 연고로 내가 말하노니, 만약 하나가 전부이면 하나는 빛으로 가득 찰 것이나 만약 하나가 나뉘면 하나는 어둠으로 가득 찰 것이니라."
62 Jesus said, "I disclose my mysteries to those [who are worthy] of [my]
mysteries.
예수께서 말씀하시니라. "나는 비밀에 합당한 자에게 나의 비밀을 드러내느니라."
Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing."
"너희 오른손이 하는 일을 왼손이 알지 못하도록 하라."
